- yarn (color optional)
- plastic canvas sheets
- plastic canvas needles
- scissors
First, you want to gather all your materials. This way you have everything in front of you and get comfortable because this will take some time, lol.
18 x 22 |
Once you have all the materials it is time to cut the plastic canvas
sheets into three sections, each sheet makes up nine rectangles eighteen by twenty-two.
Template |
Second, use your template to cut each rectangle into the shape of dog tags.
Then you will end up with a pile or stack of the templates cut outs.
27 cutouts in total |
Third, you will need yarn to stitch out each letter:
- U-S-N-A-V-Y (US is optional)
- W-E-L-C-O-M-E
Note: I decided to not use U and S, felt it was to much.
Fourth, here we start to sew or weave the yawn throughout the canvas. The font, I had to search Pinterest for the different fonts that would fit and look, that I was looking for.
Fifth, You will need to use your yawn and attach each of the letter words first. Then add the blank ones to give the wreath more depth.
Last, I cut a octagon shape because my wreath needed something to look more like a wreath and not a droopy wreath. I cut and used yawn to weave throughout the frame. After, I attached to the frame of the wreath.
This is what is should look like after you are completely done making and attaching you wreath together!
